| CCS in Southeastern Arizona Transportation |
In rural areas, transportation to needed services can be quite a challenge. Cochise County is located in the Southeast corner of Arizona and has an area of 6,169 sq. miles. In response to this challenge, CCS-SEAZ has developed several programs to uniquely provide this much needed service. From the Transportation Office located in Douglas, two services to varied clients and locations are dispatched. Senior transportation takes clients from Elfrida to Douglas for Doctor appointments, nutrition services, and shopping twice per month. In the communities of Douglas and Bisbee, non-emergency medical transports are provided through a contract with Bridgeway and Southeast Arizona Government Organization. Non-Emergency transport service along with A Dial-A Ride service is provided 6 days a week when required. Douglas Rides is a deviated fixed route service and is available in the City of Douglas. This service was developed to meet the needs of the low income, elderly, disabled and those needing transportation for employment, education and medical treatment including dialysis, radiation and chemo treatments. CCS sub-contracts with the City of Bisbee to provide a deviated fixed route service. Dispatch is conjoined with Douglas Rides. The Bisbee Bus operates 6 days a week, with deviations to accommodate special needs and seniors when needed.
