Congregate and Home Delivered Meals
What We Do: The provision of nutrition services to older people in a group or home setting. The meal meets one-third of the recommended dietary allowances for older adults. These meals and other nutrition services are provided to improve the dietary intakes of participants and to offer opportunities to be linked with other community resources.

Persons aged 60 and over (or spouse regardless of age) who are in greatest social and economic need for meals and/or socialization.

Congregate Meal Sites

A hot meal is offered Monday - Thursday at two senior centers in Pinal County.

    The Coolidge Adult Center, 250 S. 3rd St., Coolidge, 85228, 723-7910

All participants are given an opportunity to contribute towards the cost of the meal and there is a suggested donation at each center. Advance registration for meals is required. Transportation to the Center is available on a donation basis for persons aged 60 or over (or spouse regardless of age) who are registered to participate at the center.  See www.pgcsc.org for the location of other senior centers in Pinal County.

Home Delivered Meals

Eligibility Requirements:
Persons aged 60 or over (or spouse regardless of age) *and disabled persons who are in greatest social and economic need and are at risk of not meeting their daily nutritional requirements and :

1) are home bound and are deficient in two limitations in instrumental activities of daily living such as inability to prepare meals, shop for food, do housework, laundry, etc as determined by an in-home assessment; and:

2) have no other meal preparation assistance available to them *Very limited funding is available for disabled individuals, age-18-59, on a short-term basis.

1. How do I get started?
Call 1-800-293-9393 or if local to Casa Grande, 836-2758 and ask for Central Intake, Screening and Referral. You will be asked for your social security number, birth date, emergency contact number, and other pertinent information.

2. How much does the meal cost?
We give everyone the opportunity to contribute towards the cost of the meal. The suggested contribution is $2.00 per meal.

3. What time will my meal be delivered? We have varied delivery days and times. Some routes are delivered Monday and Wednesday.  Others are delivered Tuesday and Thursday.  We deliver a chilled meal and one frozen meal on the first delivery day of the week and a chilled meal and two frozen meals on the second delivery day of the week. Weekend meals are available for special circumstances.

4. Do you provide meals for special diets?
Our meals are low in fat, sugar, and salt but are not "special diet" meals (menu).
