Clinical Director

Position Purpose

Responsible for the management of the Counseling and Victim Assistance Programs.  Serves as Clinical Director of the agency’s licensed, outpatient counseling program.  Provides direct service, supervision of staff and compliance with all licensure and contracts.  Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Review, recommend, develop and implement program policies and procedures for clinical services that comply with licensing and contract standards
  • Responsible for the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, providing constructive performance feedback and evaluation of counseling staff and interns
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to staff and maintain compliance with supervision records
  • Conducts sensitive interviews to assess for an overall clinical impression, current problem, risk of suicide or homicide, and to be able to identify need for hospitalization, crisis housing, case management or other urgent or long term needs
  • Completes mental health assessments and evaluations with clients.  Makes diagnostic and clinical decisions based on the evaluation
  • Perform mental/behavioral health services through individual, family, couples and marriage
  • Design and implement policies and procedures that assure program and individual staff compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, contractual obligations, record keeping, reporting and billing
  • Design and implement a Quality Assurance methodology
  • Assist in development of a program budget and monitor financial activity monthly
  • Assist in the development of proposals for funding
  • Represent and promote the agency and program at community meetings; responsible for collaboration with partners
  • Participate in client staffing of cases or case conferences when clinically appropriate
  • May drive agency or personal vehicle on company business

 

 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Related Field
  • Active License Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, in good standing from Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners
  • Four years in outpatient clinical practice
  • Two years supervising counselors or clinical staff
  • Strong communication skills – oral and written communications are clear, concise, and organized
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance, and 39 months Motor Vehicle Report
  • Valid State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Ability to obtain a Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Additional years of education in relevant field
  • Additional years of related experience
  • Recognized by or ability to obtain approval from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners to provide clinical supervision
  • Additional training in an Area of Specialty or Specialty Certification
  • Bilingual, English / Spanish verbal and written
