Transitional Housing

Since 1997, Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona has provided Transitional Housing to low-income families experiencing housing instability or homelessness. This program is designed to assist families, with at least one dependent under the age of 18, achieve stability in their life by addressing the major contributing factors to instability, including: Educational/Vocational Training, Employment Services, assistance with addressing Medical/Behavioral Health concerns, and developing a positive support system.

We assist program participants in achieving these goals by providing person-centered, Trauma-Informed wrap-around Support Services, to include: Comprehensive Assessments, Individualized Service Plans, Case Management, Peer Support, Life Skills Training, Budgeting, Parenting Groups, Pre-vocational Services, On-going Support to Maintain Employment, and referrals to outside support services.

 Program requirements include:

  • Participants must have employment to afford their program fee.
  • Participant’s income cannot exceed 60% of the Area Median Income level
  • Continued sobriety upon admission into the program
  • Active participation in case management services
  • Participation in monthly financial literacy groups
  • Participants must save 10% of their discretionary income
  • Participants must pay 10% of their discretionary income towards debts identified on their credit report.

This is a twelve-month program, where families are required to pay a program fee for their housing. The standard rent amount for a two-bedroom unit, with all utilities, is $1250 per month, but thanks to a generous donation from a community partner, participants will only have to pay $546 per month*.
